The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) is the process by which adults are baptized or are received into full communion with the Catholic Church. Inquirers may join OCIA at any time. Formation typically culminates with the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil, the night before Easter Sunday, but can also take place when the catechumen/candidate is ready.
OCIA meets weekly on Thursdays from 7:00 – 8:30 PM. For more information about OCIA or becoming Catholic, contact Deacon Fritz Bauerschmidt.
Those curious about Catholicism are invited to participate in any of the Cathedral's Adult Faith Formation programs or may reach out to any of the parish clergy with questions.
