Large families of 8-12 people are especially hard to adopt. It is rewarding to organize a group from your workplace, club, family,  neighborhood or friends to adopt a large family. 

Cathedral’s Social Justice Ministry Committee has sponsored the Adopt-A-Family program for more than 20 years. Over the years countless parishioners and friends have adopted families in need at Christmas by giving them food and gifts. In giving generously of their time and money they have brought great joy to the recipients----and great joy to themselves.

In 2006 approximately 125 families were adopted from our Sister Parish, Immaculate Conception, on Mosher Street in the inner city. Most were single parent households and many were grandparents raising grandchildren.

We need your support to continue to make Adopt-A-Family a great success!

Please, click here to fill out the form and return it as soon as possible. It will be most helpful to have to have these in hand by December 9. That will allow time to get your family’s information to you and time for you to shop before the delivery date, Saturday, December 15th.  

Also, please consider volunteering to drive on Saturday, December 15. Those who have driven will tell you that it is a very heartwarming and rewarding experience. It's easy to get to Immaculate Conception, it's  just off the Jones Falls Expressway near North Avenue.  

Unfortunately, due to the large number of donors and recipients, it is not possible to match donors with recipients of certain ages and genders. Please do not request, for example, a family with a five year old boy.
