Scouts at the Cathedral

Brownie Scouts
The Cathedral has two active Brownie troops that provide an opportunity for second and third grade girls to learn life-skills and participate in activities such as community service, cultural events and camping.

Meets:
Twice a month, from September to May.
Adult Volunteers:
Enthusiastic volunteers are always needed. Volunteers must participate in Girl Scout training.

Girl Scouts
Provides opportunities for girls to develop self-confidence and leadership skills through group activities fostering mental, physical, and social growth. At meetings, the girls participate in arts & crafts, sports, and learning activities planned and prepared by the scout leader.

Meets:
One hour per week, or 2 hours every other week.
Adult Volunteer Commitment:
Girl Scout leader, 3-4 hours planning and preparation before meetings.
Volunteer Profile/Special Skills:
Friendly, enjoy children.

Cub Scouts
Provides opportunities for boys to work together as a team, learning to be better students, leaders, and citizens as they develop mentally and physically. The goal is to develop strong character.

Meets:
Weekly.
Adult Volunteer Commitment:
Varies. 2-3 hours for planning and preparation.
Volunteer Profile/Special Skills:
Work well with others, both adults and children.

Boy Scouts
Assists young men to achieve self-confidence and to acquire life-skills.

Troop 1000
Meets: Friday evenings, September to June, with periodic off-site camping trips and tours.
Adult Volunteer Profile/Special Skills:
Work well with adolescent boys.
