Let the coming generations
be told of the goodness of the Lord.

"... all Christians by virtue of baptism and confirmation, are called to transmit the gospel and to be concerned about the faith of their brothers in Christ, especially children and young people." (International Synod of Bishops, Message to the People of God, 1977.)

Volunteer Catechists:
The ministry of the volunteer catechist is the most important in any parish. It is no small thing to give so much of yourself every Sunday morning!

Volunteer catechists are provided training and are encouraged to work for Archdiocesan Catechist certification. Volunteer catechists must come together as a whole body to renew, learn and work together so that we may bring our faith to life for those we teach.

Do you know anyone who might make a good catechist? If so, please offer them an invitation and call Sherri Rachuba, Coordinator of Youth Evangelization and Catechesis at 410-464-4010 or send an e-mail.

Team Teaching:
Two volunteer catechists are assigned to each classroom. Every catechist is involved in the teaching activities of every session.

The root meaning of catechist is “one who echoes.” The catechist’s role is to echo and reecho the story of Jesus Christ.
