God's Protection
A testimony of prayer

When danger is threatening us or our loved ones, what do we do about it? Do we enter into fear? Or do we trust in God? Here is a testimony about God's protective power.

My parents live in Palm Coast. That is where the fires were recently that destroyed a large part of Florida. My parents' neighborhood was devastated by the Flagler Beach fires.

I prayed all that weekend for God's mercy and protection on their home. When it was over, we discovered that God had shielded approximately eight homes on their street. My parent's home was saved. The flames got as close as about a hundred yards from their door. The fire took the woods in the front of the home and some in the back. The fire jumped from place to place. It is truly amazing and a blessing! Nothing in their home was damaged and there was not even smoke damage. That is God's hand!

I kept telling my family that everything would be okay. The reports on the news said that Matanza Woods was all gone. They live the next street over from Matanza Woods. The fire took a path down Route A1A, through Matanza Woods, and right into my parent's neighborhood. It jumped Highway 95 and devastated more homes. The firefighters were going to let all the fires merge because there were three or four going at one time and there was not enough firefighting power. They were going to let the Flagler fires and Voluscia fires merge ~ they couldn't control them because of the winds. But, the wind miraculously died down. Praise God!

Recently, I went to visit my parents. The trees are charred to the top, but amazingly the palmetto bushes are spawning new growth. God is good!
