The intent of these windows was to highlight non-canonized people whose pioneering spirit was influential in the forming of the Church in our country.  However, since the Cathedral has been built, two of them (Mother Seton and Mother Katherine Drexel) have been canonized.

Saint Elizabeth Anne Seton (1774-1821), widow and mother who founded the first American sisterhood, the Daughters of Charity (feast day January 4th)
