Looking past the altar in the sanctuary of the
Cathedral, through the glory of the cross, we get a glimpse
of the Lady Chapel, lit by its predominantly blue stained
glass windows.
This chapel is dedicated to the Assumption of our Blessed
Mother into heaven. The Church has always held that, after
her earthly life was over, Mary was taken up into heaven,
where she joins her Son and reigns as our Queen.
