Servanthood Means Sorrow and Sacrifice
Altar of Saint Patrick

The altar in this bay is dedicated to Saint Patrick, early fifth century bishop and patron of Ireland who worked tirelessly to spread the faith in that land.

The window shows Christ as the Man of Sorrows. This is the embodiment of the Passion: the pain and suffering Jesus underwent for us during Holy Week. The central figure shows Christ crushed by the weight of our sins, just as grapes are crushed in the winepress. Click on the window to continue.
