The stone panel to the left depicts the raising of Lazarus from the dead. Mary and Martha, his sisters, are kneeling on either side. The text comes from John's Gospel (11:43), which is read on the fifth Sunday of Lent.
The panel to the right shows Jesus preaching in the Temple to a skeptical group. This text is also taken from John's Gospel (8:52) and was once part of the liturgy of Palm Sunday.
