The stone panel on the left portrays Jesus healing the blind beggar of Jericho. Both the scene and the text comes from Luke's Gospel (18:42), which used to be read on the Fifth Sunday of Lent but is now read on the Thirty-First Sunday of the year.
The stone panel on the right shows Christ repelling the temptations of Satan. The scene and the text are from Matthew's Gospel (4:4), which is read on the first Sunday of Lent.
