The Baptistery has thirteen stained glass windows interwoven with each other using the theme of a fishers net, which comes from Matthew's gospel: "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men" (Mt. 4:19-20). The Church is often thought of as a net by which she brings us into the Kingdom.

It is through the Sacrament of Baptism that we enter that Kingdom of Heaven, which is "like a net cast into the sea."

See all the windows in one large view photo (43k) by clicking on this one (right).

The central window, opposite the entrance, depicts Christ the King and Savior who triumphed over sin and death. We believe that we will one day live with Him in heaven, with no more sin or death. The other windows present Ezekiel, an Old Testament prophet who foretold the saving power of the sacrament of Baptism, Saints Peter and Paul who preached it, and Saint Phillip the Deacon who administered it dramatically to the minister of the Ethiopian queen.
